Muhammad Musa Bello, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory says that his administration will promote manufacturing in Nigeria’s capital city.
Mr Bello said this when he hosted members of the executive of the Manufacturers Association of Nigeria (MAN) led by the group’s chief Mansur Ahmed.
A statement issued by Mr Bello’s spokesperson Anthony Ogunleye, said that the minister believed that the manufacturing sector spurs development and is one of the critical pillars of the country’s economy.
“The COVID-19 pandemic which resulted in the lockdown of countries around the world revealed that as a nation, Nigeria cannot depend on outsiders as the global lockdown resulted in the disruption of supply chains and manufacturing processes,” the minister said.
Mr Bello said his administration would invest in the development of the industrial zones of Gwagwalada and Kwali and provide increased security at the Idu Industrial Area.
