Rotimi Akeredolu, the governor of Ondo, in Nigeria’s South-West, has won the governorship primaries of the the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state.
Mr Akeredolu is expected to be the party’s candidate for the October 10 governorship election, barring any successful legal challenges from the other aspirants.
Mr Akeredolu defeated seven other aspirants in Monday’s governorship primaries after four contestants withdrew from the primary election. .
The chairman of the party’s Primary Election Committee, Kogi’s governor Yahaya Bello, is expected to announce the official results soon.
