Nigeria’s top diplomat says that he has tested positive for coronavirus. Geoffrey Onyeama, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, announced this via the social messaging app Twitter.
The Minister said that he will go into isolation and begin treatment immediately.
The Minister Tweeted: “Did my fourth Covid-19 test yesterday at the first sign of a throat irritation and unfortunately this time it came back positive.
“That is life! Win some lose some. Heading for isolation in a health facility and praying for the best.”
Mr Onyeama, a lawyer from Enugu, in Nigeria’s South-East, is a notable member of the Presidential Task-Force on COVID-19.
