Lawyer and activist Olisa Agbakoba says that he is not part of a new political group known as the ‘National Consultative Front’ which announced that he was part of a list of political and thought leaders who had launched the political body.

The group had issued a communique on Wednesday where it listed a 7-point resolution from its “nationwide consultation and engagement”.

The NCF also named Ghali Na’ Aba, Oby Ezekwesili, Umar Dangiwa, Pat Utomi, Mailafia Obadiah and Femi Falana as members. They said their mission was to rescue Nigeria from completely sliding into “political anarchy”, among others.

Mr Agbakoba distanced himself from the group in a Tweet. He said, “My attention has been drawn to a widely circulated story that I am part of a new political movement known as the National Consultative Front.

“Without prejudice to the need for such a political movement, I want to place it on record that I was not consulted and so I am not part of the National Consultative Front.”
