Aviation Minister, Senator Hadi Sirika has announced that Nigeria will open its domestic airspace on July 8. Mr Sirika said that the two main airports, the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport Abuja and the Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos will reopen on that date. He said that the Port Harcourt, Owerri and Maiduguri airports will begin operations on the July 11, while flights will resume in other airports across the country on July 15.
Mr Sirika advised passengers to follow all safety guidelines and protocols put in place to ensure that the airports do not become channels for the spread of the coronavirus.
Nigeria banned domestic and international flights on March 23 in response to the global spread of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.
